Delhi And Jaipur-Taj Mahal Tour

Day 01: Delhi


On arrival in Delhi,met and welcomed by our representative and transfer to hotel. In the evening go for a short trip to India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan,North and South Block,can also indulge in shopping at Connaught Place and Palika Bazaar. Situated on the Rajpath in New Delhi, the India Gate was originally called the All India War Memorial is a monument built by Edwin Lutyens to commemorate the Indian soldiers who died in World War I and the Afghan Wars.

 

The foundation stone was laid on 10 February 1921 by the Duke of Connaught. The names of the soldiers who died in these wars are inscribed on the walls. It was completed in 1931.Rahtrapati Bhavan is where the president of India lives, is primarily famous for its architecture and Mughal gardens. Overnight stay will be at hotel.

Day 02: Delhi


Post breakfast, we proceed for a full day sightseeing to all the historical monuments in Delhi, the major attractions would include Red Fort,Humayun's Tomb,Qutab Minar,Jama Masjid, Lotus Temple and Rajghat.Red Fort and Humayun's tomb along with Qutab Minar are listed world heritage sites and are a must see for any tourist. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.


Day 03: Delhi - Agra


Upon arrival in Delhi, met by our representative and transfer to Agra (200 kms/4 hours) enroute Mathura.Visit the famous Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Dwarkadheesh temple in Mathura, Mathura is reputed to be the birthplace of Krishna, Krishnajanmabhoomi. The Keshav Dev temple was built in ancient times on the site of Krishna's legendary birthplace (an underground prison). As per epic Mahabharata, Mathura was the capital of the Surasena Kingdom, ruled by Kansa the maternal uncle of Krishna,after local sightseeing in Mathura,you will be transferred to Agra, Agra is a city on the banks of the Yamuna River in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It finds mention in the epic Mahabharata when it was called Agrabana, or Paradise.

 

Ptolemy, the famous 2nd century geographer, marked it on his map of the world as Agra. Tradition and legend ascribe the present city of Raja Badal Singh (around 1475) whose Fort, Badalgarh, Stood on or near the site of the present Fort. However, the 12th century Persian poet Salman writes of a desperate assault on the fortress of Agra, then held by one King Jaipal, by Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni.] It was ruled by Sultan Sikandar Lodi in the year 1506. It achieved fame as the capital of the Mughal emperors from 1526 to 1658and remains a major tourist destination because of its many splendid Mughal-era buildings, most notably the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri, all three of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, go for local sightseeing including Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Overnight stay and dinner will be at hotel.


Day 04: Jaipur


After breakfast,go for local sightseeing at Fatehpur Sikri.After local sightseeing,you will be transferred to Jaipur(230 kms/5 hours).Jaipur also popularly famous and well known as the pink city, is the capital of Rajasthan state, India. Historically rendered as Jeypore. Jaipur is the former capital of the princely state of Jaipur. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. Built of pink stucco in imitation of sandstone, the city is remarkable among pre-modern Indian cities for the width and regularity of its streets which are laid out into six quarters separated by broad streets 111 ft (34 m) wide. The urban quarters are further divided by networks of gridded streets. Five quarters wrap around the east, south, and west sides of a central palace quarter, with a sixth quarter immediately to the east. The Palace quarter encloses a sprawling palace complex (the Hawa Mahal, or palace of winds), formal gardens, and a small lake. Nahargarh Fort crowns the hill in the northwest corner of the old city. Another noteworthy building is Sawai Jai Singh's observatory, Jantar Mantar. With its rich and colourful past, resplendent with tales of valour and bravery, Jaipur is now one of the most important and culturally famous heritage cities in India, Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 05: Jaipur


After breakfast, go for local sightseeing at Jaipur including Amber fort,Jantar Mantar,Ram Bagh Palace,Hawa Mahal and City Palace.Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.


Day 06: Jaipur-Delhi Departure
After breakfast, transfer back to Delhi (260 kms/5 hours).
